Throughout his tenure, Coach Joe made a lasting impact on our students, athletes, and families through his commitment, integrity, and passion for the game.
Coach Regruth has officially submitted his resignation from coaching, which coincides with his upcoming retirement from teaching at Mariemont Junior High School, where he has served as both a history teacher and physical education instructor. His career at Mariemont followed successful coaching roles at Xavier University, Mt. St. Joseph University, Cincinnati, and Sycamore High School.
During his 16 seasons at the helm of the Warrior Baseball Program, Coach Regruth achieved numerous milestones:
- 171 career wins
- Longest-tenured coach in the Cincinnati Hills League (CHL)
- Longest-tenured male sport coach at Mariemont High School
- 16 years as a teacher and coach in Mariemont City Schools
- 3 CHL Players of the Year
- 3 Kusel Athletic Hall of Fame inductees coached
- 12 players advanced to compete at the collegiate level
- 14 sets of brothers coached
- 30 First Team All-CHL selections
- Coached Erik Swanson, current MLB pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays
- Averaged over 11 wins per season
- 4 District Semifinal appearances
- 4 Sectional Championship appearances
- 2025 District Runner-Up – most wins in a season since 2006
Coach Regruth leaves behind a legacy of excellence and mentorship that will be felt for years to come. We wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement.
The search for the next leader of the Mariemont Warrior Baseball Program is now underway. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, along with a professional and baseball résumé, to Athletic Director Tom Nerl at tnerl@mariemontschools.org. Submissions will be accepted through June 27, 2025, or until the position is filled.
