The Mariemont Board of Education has approved the recommendation of the Boys Lacrosse Search Committee to hire Jonathan Malotke as the next head coach of the Mariemont High School boys lacrosse program.

A 1999 graduate of Mariemont High School, Malotke was a member of the Warriors' inaugural boys lacrosse team, making his appointment a full-circle moment for both him and the program.

Over the past two decades, Malotke has built an extensive coaching resume at the high school and youth levels. He has served as an assistant and junior varsity head coach at Indian Hill, Sycamore, and Loveland High Schools, contributing to successful programs at each stop. In addition, he has worked with multiple club lacrosse organizations and camps, developing expertise in player development, team culture, and program management.

Most recently, Malotke led the Mariemont Junior High School boys lacrosse team to the 2025 state championship. He has coached the program for the past four seasons, helping develop the core of the current high school roster.

A lifelong Terrace Park resident, business owner, and member of the Terrace Park Recreation Committee, Malotke is deeply invested in the Mariemont community.

"My deep roots within this community and school district have prepared me to continue our tradition of excellence," said Malotke. "Most importantly, I have coached every player on next year's varsity roster during their middle school years. Having worked with these student-athletes since seventh and eighth grade, I am uniquely positioned to provide the stability and continuity needed to help them reach their full potential and compete for a state championship."

Malotke succeeds Steve Peterson, who stepped down following the 2026 season after an extraordinary tenure that included 203 victories and five state championships. Malotke becomes just the third head coach in the history of the Mariemont boys lacrosse program since it became a school-sponsored sport.
